The Fight Against Domestic Violence Enters the Wireless Age
Denise Brown Joins The Wireless City Group, LLC to Take Her Message Against Domestic Violence to a New Level of Connectivity

(Irvine, Calif. - August 29, 2006) - As the "closed garage door syndrome" escalates throughout homes in local communities, Denise Brown is on a mission to utilize the benefits of Municipal Wireless Networks as a platform to spread the word against domestic violence. With a global trend toward Municipal Wireless Networks gaining momentum, city leaders look for high speed wireless connectivity as a vehicle to increase public safety and bring back "trust thy neighbor" into their communities.

"I have been exploring new innovative ways to communicate the fight against Domestic Violence," says Denise Brown - Chair of the Board for the Nicole Brown Foundation. Several months ago I was put in contact with The Wireless City Group in Irvine, California. They informed me that one of the top five reasons that city leader's support Municipal Wireless Networks is to increase public safety. In an effort to reduce predator incidences and domestic violence acts, my goal will be to actively serve as a liaison to city leaders that want to explore the public safety benefits that a 'wireless city' can bring to their communities that extend beyond and compliment the local safety agencies." Brown continues, "based on the initial case studies of high speed wireless connectivity, it can be a remedy to reduce the gaps in communication that currently exist at the local community level between individuals, law enforcement, courts and domestic violence program providers."

Though the wireless technology is still evolving, it certainly offers a viable platform to cure public safety woes in the local community. "While the wireless service providers work to improve and perfect the technology, I will work with The Wireless City, to reach-out and spread the word. My goal will be to work with city and community leaders to create the maximum awareness to forge communication alignments between government and the community," Brown concludes.

"We are honored to have Denise as part of our team, says Glenn Llopis - President / CEO of The Wireless City Group. As our resident Public Safety Victims Advocate, Denise will contribute greatly in creating the 'grass-roots' level of awareness against Domestic Violence that will further support our initiative to empower local communities," Llopis concludes."

Denise Brown has worked to help pass a variety of legislative solutions for domestic violence. One of her most important projects was to lobby on behalf of the Violence Against Women Act (VAMA). Ms. Brown testified to the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee for increased funding for the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). After her testimony, that portion of the bill's funding was increased from 18 million to 32 million dollars. U.S. Senators Biden and Hatch have cited Denise Brown as "having done more for the issue of domestic violence than any other individual."
